I gotta agree with you on carbureted vintage bikes vs FI, computer chipped bikes. Late '70's to early 2000's bikes are the most soulful. Love your ZR1100! What a beauty.
Bike is gorgeous. I have to agree, the slightly older 1990's early 200'0's bikes were the golden epoch before everything became digitalised. I don't think Ive ever owned a full injected bike, cant say if they are soulless, but I can believe its true.
This is pure life man! Keep going
Did this fault stop the fuel pump priming
Yes.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction! I get the idea of altering the gearing, but what you gain in one area you lose in another. If it's happy on the inclines in 4th then just leave it on 4th perhaps? Rather than pushing the revs up in a higher gear, increasing fuel consumption everywhere and your Speedo running untrue..gears simply match power to speed under load and not sure that Yamaha spent millions in development costs that they didn't take into account u might need to stay in 4th to keep in the power. Possibly the increased torque ( 8-10% perhaps) might also undermine the drive bearings and put an extra load on components and of course don't forget to inform the insurance company or they may void a claim after an accident due to not having recommended parts.. or not identifying what is effectively a performance upgrade..just my thoughts & each to their own tho 🤣
Good video ❤
Had a new 93 and 99 and many years later bought a used 2000. Really great all around bike that stood the test of time. Cheers.
Thanks for the Great Overview. The B3/B4 Models (1996/1997) are known to have the head gasket fixed...the factory did a silent update i guess. I like my B4 from 1997...its like a mini Hayabusa..insanely stable at high speed...never feel the need for a steering damper. only model with a fuel gauge... nice to have.
Is it worth just turning off the fuel and running it dry?. It might leave a little in the float bowl but would that be ok?
You seem to be the Zx9r man.would you happen to know the blue wheel colour code ? Also where I can get the ninja decals for same bike as yours … cheers. Great looking machine by the way..
He was probably planning to pull in behind you, but you slowed down after the pass.
He is a great example of squids that actually got old instead of dying.
Looks very nice and in great conditions. :) Cheers.
I sold my "02 ZZR1200 when I bought my 2020 Z900RS Cafe.
I watch your vids and I’ve done a lot of DIY just from watching you, I have a 1995 zx600e It’s currently in the shop, bike sat for 10 plus years. It’s my 1st bike I can’t wait to ride it.
I weigh like 165 lbs do you recommend getting an aftermarket rear suspension? I've read people say that suspension isn't the best.
You don't need to be in 6th all the time. I have a TDM and 6th gear is perfect for bigger roads. Its like an overdrive
Im debating getting a 1400 or 1200. Right now I am happy with my 1100 zzr though. Would love to see a comparison video between a late 1200 and early 1400
I have done a comparison, Check out my other videos.
The only bike i really miss!
Didnt know they did an electric ZZR...

👍🏍️✊
Is there a video on fitting?
What are the stock jet sizes ? I suspect mine may have been done, but I'd like to check it at some stage. Mine has the K&N Filter and Yoshimura full system so I have a feeling it may have a kit fitted. The bike is a beast and definitely feels more alive than others I've sampled. Possibly has a cam too.
Some friendly advice to everyone. If you are a DIY type who tinkers on their Jap bikes, get yourselves some JIS screw drivers. (Japanese Industry Standard) screw drivers are a must, especially when doing carby work so you don't ruin the screws. The screws are made for JIS screw drivers for best mechanical fit and purchase of the screw itself.
I had a D2 4 into 1 for 20 years sold it for 600 quid when i left the country. Did many bike rallies on it Bulldog Rock and blues MCN weekends and many more.... Miss it like mad
Really great video. Thankyou
I appreciate the technical review! Good straightforward information.
I suspect that dirty coolingwater is making problems for myself. Going to flush the system and change it. I thought it might be the battery but after I saw my cooling water I suspect that this device isn't working properly. I bought the bike used last year. I guess the previous owner either changed the cooling water with the wrong one or topped it off with the wrong one. Going to check if the pin moves freely.
Хороший обзор 👍 что за музыка играет?? Как называется группа?
In description.
A good day indeed! Looks like a fantastic ride… apart from the odd cattle grate
Best thing for me was the traffic free roads giving a stress free ride.
What roads please? more near the beginning of the video👍
Nice day for a ride out 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 enjoy.
Great bikes, those.
I get rid on a Busa 03 for a zzr 1200 ...this one ..just a decent bike👍😇
A good example of what to expect from car drivers. The safest rider in the world could be taken out by lunatics who run red lights... Agree with the comments...Best look and exercise caution. 👌
Glad your avoided a nasty collision, years of experience looking out for this sort of thing, other comment about pulling away fast is so true. Treat traffic light junctions as if it is just an ordinary unmarked crossroads. 😊 Looking left and right as you turn. 👍👍👍👍
That's why I never pull away from the lights fast, give the red light runners time to pass👍
We were talking about this today, that you NEVER see sports bikes on the road anymore. I worked as a technician for Honda back in early 2000's and the market was booming. A lot of it comes down to price where you could pick up a brand new 600 with disposable income (in cash), today you've no chance.... £24,000 for a 30th anniversary Fireblade!? Standard Repsol Blades used to leave our place at £8000
Is this the same as gpz 500 1990
Yes.
I agree, i much prefer bikes of 20 plus years ago than todays offerings. They weren't lacking in power then and they aren't now.
My 1993 model still a beautiful bike to ride.
How much of a difference did you feel with the new shock? I have a sneaky feeling in my back mine needs replacing
Significant improvement in the handling for sure.
My 04 now 29k, got her at 18k. Only issue was the strting relay. If it fails pay the money and get the upgraded one from a kaw dealer. Not the net. I did and it lasted 20 miles The new one 9k miles and still going. Did a 1000 mile round trip last summer. Loved it. Smooth, silky, and down right fast if needed.
Hello, can you make a video without the DB killer please?
Ya, better Off with Zrx or ZZR 1200 buy good upscale parts 😊
Sorry to bother you. As an experienced (older) rider the GSR600 is a bike that really appeals to me but quite a view reviewers go on about the "jerky throttle" by which, I presume, they mean 'fueling'. Some also talk about the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) being at fault. Do you have any experience regarding this supposed problem with the GSR600 or do you think that's all down to a bad riding technique eg. throttle control ? Many thanks.
Not had any problems with mine It’s nice and smooth, ECU can be re mapped at any dyno centre these days for smoother throttle if required but mine is fine as it is.
@@mcycle24 Great, good news. Many thanks for your reply, very much appreciated.
So very true. REAL Motorcycling is where peace is - Zen or otherwise.
yes gorgeous bike. Doing something similar with my ER5, new Hagon shocks, new RR unit, new radiator, new exhaust, brake overhaul, new clutch plates, battery etc I don't know why but its all analogue and I too really love it. Almost all bikers in Scotland give you a nod on the road XD
What a lovely machine, I remember when they came out. Thanks for the video.
Magazine test said surprisingly it dipped at 6k and needs a dynojetkit Did jetkit help away torgue dip at 6000rpm?
My friend has a ZZR1200 that he needs help working on. Your videos are great references. Thank you. Could you let me know where you got that bendy wretched screwdriver/wrench. It looks like it would make life handy in lots of situations.
